This makes the code free of Coverity scan issues.
It is sometimes quite pedantic and expects/suggests some
coding habits, thus certain changes may look weird, but for a good
thing, I hope. The code is also tagged with Coverity scan
suppressions, to keep the code as is and hide the warning too.
Also note that Coverity treats g_return_if_fail(), g_assert() and
similar macros as unreliable, and it's true these can be disabled
during the compile time, thus it brings in other set of 'weird'
changes.

Evolution consists of entirely too many small utility libraries, which
increases linking and loading time, places a burden on higher layers of
the application (e.g. modules) which has to remember to link to all the
small in-tree utility libraries, and makes it difficult to generate API
documentation for these utility libraries in one Gtk-Doc module.
Merge the following utility libraries under the umbrella of libeutil,
and enforce a single-include policy on libeutil so we can reorganize
the files as desired without disrupting its pseudo-public API.

But the skeletal structure is in place and I'm off to a good start.

Prefer dealing with GdkEvent pointers and using accessor functions like
gdk_event_get_button().
This is complicated by the fact that some GtkWidget method declarations
still use GdkEventButton pointers, and synthesizing button events pretty
much requires direct GdkEventButton access. But GDK seems to be nudging
itself toward sealing the GdkEvent union. Likely to happen in GDK4.
Mainly clean up signal handlers and leave method overrides alone for now.

The state of an activity must be explicitly changed. In particular,
when the user cancels an activity the state should be set only after
confirming the operation has been cancelled and not when cancellation
is requested (e.g. after receiving a G_IO_ERROR_CANCELLED, not when
the GCancellable emits "cancelled"). EActivityBar and EActivityProxy
widgets have been updated to make this distinction clearer in the UI.
E_ACTIVITY_WAITING will be used when activities have to be queued and
dispatched in sequence, which I haven't written yet.

We can't require the use of EUIManager everywhere because we don't
control all the UI manager instances -- the most compelling example
being the composer, whose UI manager comes from GtkhtmlEditor.
Instead, EPluginUI will check the instance type and pick an appropriate
"load_from_string" function.

Replace the EVO_EXPRESS environment variable with an --express command
line option. (Note, this adds a new translatable string for --help.)
Add an EUIManager class with an "express-mode" property and custom load

(Also going to see if I can get GTK+ to add an "add_ui_from_string"
method to GtkUIManagerClass that we can override. Then we could just
call gtk_ui_manager_add_ui_from_string() and the preprocessor would

Add an "express-mode" read-only GObject property to EShell.

EFocusTracker tracks the input focus within a window and helps keep
the sensitivity of "selectable" actions in the main menu up-to-date.
Selectable actions include Cut, Copy, Paste, Select All and Delete.
EFocusTracker has built-in support for widgets that implement the
GtkEditable interface such as GtkEntry and GtkTextView. It also
supports custom widgets that implement the ESelectable interface,
which is a subset of GtkEditable and can apply to anything that
displays selectable content (esp. tree views and ETables).
This commit integrates EFocusTracker with EShellWindow, CompEditor,
EMsgComposer, and ESignatureManager.
It also bumps the GtkHTML requirement to 2.29.5 to utilize the new
GtkhtmlEditor:html constructor property.

Move the search interface to a new widget: EShellSearchbar
The current search rule is now stored in EShellView, and the search
context in EShellViewClass similar to GalViewCollection (since it's
class-specific, not instance-specific).
Also add a couple new signals to EShellView: "clear-search" and
"custom-search" ("custom" refers to an advanced search or a saved
search -- something more complex than a quick search).
Still working out a few kinks. The search entry is clearly trying to
be too many things. We need a different way of indicating that you're
looking at search results. Perhaps a search results banner similar to
Nautilus.

e_shell_view_execute_search() emits the new signal.

Each EShellView now maintains a GKeyFile for recording disposable widget
state such as tree view path expansion, scroll bar positions, combo box
selections, etc. The EShellView records changes to the key file to
~/.evolution/<shell-backend>/config/state, and automatically restores
the GKeyFile at startup.
Currently only the mailer uses the key file, but it's intended to serve
all shell views. It replaces the use of Camel "cmeta" files, as well as
"et-expanded-*" and "folder-tree-expand-state.xml" files.
Also, the mailer's folder tree model now includes a column for tracking
which sidebar folders are expanded. Folder tree widgets appearing in
dialog windows can copy the sidebar's expanded state using
em_folder_tree_clone_expanded().

- EBinding. Stolen from ExoBinding. Lets you bind GObject properties
together to automatically keep their values in sync. This is a godsend.
Added to e-util, but might even deserve a place in libedataserver.
- EShellSettings. This is the concept I blogged about. Already
started ripping apart em-mailer-prefs.c. Others to follow. Any
place where we're monitoring GConf keys is a target.
- Incremental progress on the calender and mailer. Got EMFolderView
somewhat working, but I think I'll be killing off EMFolderBrowser.

What's interesting here is we're actually sharing the ECalModel across views.
Instead of having the Calendar view listen to GConf for changes to the Task
and Memo models, the Calendar view fetches the models directly from the Task
and Memo views -- starting the views if it has to, although the shell really
takes care of that -- and loads the models into its own taskpad and memopad.
We couldn't do that sort of thing before with Bonobo in the way.
Big chunks of redundant code should begin falling out shortly.

heuristically find an Inbox folder.
(handle_current_folder_removed): New function to handle the
removal of the currently displayed folder in a slightly smarter
way than before. It tries to display the parent folder of the
folder that got deleted and, if not possible, the Inbox in the
same storage. If neither of this is possible, it displays the
default local Inbox. [It still doesn't handle the case where you
have no Inbox gracefully, but that can come later.]

[Removing Evolution::LocalStorage interface, abstracting the
unread counts from a folder's name, also abstract unread counts
from a shortcut's name. Fixes #4489 and #5497]
* e-shortcuts.c (shortcut_item_new): Take an unread_count argument
now.
(shortcut_item_update): Ditto.
* e-shortcuts-view-model.c (get_name_with_unread): Get a string
containing a shortcut name and it's unread, because these are
abstracted now.
(load_group_into_model): Use the above function to make shortcuts
that have unread counts.
* e-storage-set-view.c (update_folder_with_unread_hash): Keep a
hash of folder names with unread counts, because the folder name
and it's unread count are to be separated, only the ETree is
supposed to present it as one string.
* e-shell-view.c: Renamed EShellView::view_title_bar to
folder_title_bar, to closer match the
* e-shell-view-menu.c (new_shortcut_dialog_folder_selected_cb):
Make a shortcut with the unread count.
* e-shell-folder-commands.c (e_shell_command_add_to_shortcut_bar):
Make a shortcut with the unread count.
* e-local-storage.c: Updated for API changes.
* e-folder.c (e_folder_get_unread_count): New function, does what

* Evolution-Shell.idl (getLocalStorage): Return a Storage instead
of a LocalStorage.
* Evolution-LocalStorage.idl: Removed, no longer needed, only used
function, updateFolder, has been moved into Evolution::Storage
interface.
* evolution-local-storage.[ch]: Ditto.
* evolution-storage.c (impl_Storage_updateFolder): Implementation
of the updateFolder taken from ::LocalStorage.
(class_init): New "update_folder" signal, taken from
evolution-local-storage.c too.
(evolution_storage_update_folder): Take an @unread_count int
instead of a @highlighted boolean.
(evolution_storage_new_folder): Same for here.
(evolution_storage_update_folder_by_uri): And here.
* evolution-storage-listener.h: "update_folder" signal no longer
sends a @highlighted boolean.

[Fix a crash if you start evolution with a bad URI.]
* e-shell.c (e_shell_create_view): If we can't display the URI,
display the default uri. This is because it's necessary for
e_shell_view_display_uri() to run all the way through so corba
interfaces get setup.
* e-shell-view.c (e_shell_view_display_uri): If we fail to create
a new view for a URI (happens if you pass in an invalid URI), be
sure to return FALSE.

use of the nice defines.

the DEFAULT_URI here instead of a hard coded string.
* e-shortcuts.c (e_shortcuts_add_default_group): Fix the URI's
here to use "Local Folder".
